Hajj 2025: FCT concludes orientation for intending pilgrims
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has wrapped up its education and orientation programme for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2025 Hajj.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the Board’s Director, Mallam Kadiri Edah—represented by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu—said the orientation was conducted in phases and will culminate in a final practical session on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April at the FCT Permanent Hajj Camp in Bassan Jiwa, near Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
To accommodate the FCT’s linguistic diversity, Islamic scholars will deliver guidance in seven different languages. The sessions focused on educating pilgrims on the rites of Hajj and updates on new policies introduced by Saudi authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Mallam Edah noted that preparations for the pilgrimage are well on track. The Board has begun visa processing, secured accommodation in Makkah, and engaged reliable service providers for the FCT delegation.
He urged all registered pilgrims to fully participate in the Board’s programmes to ensure a spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage. He also called on those who haven’t submitted their international passports or completed forms to do so promptly to avoid delays in travel processing.
